## Key facts

- Lot 1 contracted energy: 63,000 MWh
- Lot 1 weighted price: €276.87/MWh
- Lot 2 contracted energy: 1,800 MWh
- Lot 2 weighted price: €229.75/MWh

Albanian Power Corporation (KESH) published the results of its electricity purchase procedure on 23 October for deliveries covering 26 October through 1 November 2026. The results show 63,000 MWh contracted in lot 1 and 1,800 MWh in lot 2. These are supply-purchase quantities rather than new generating capacity or construction awards.

## Contracted quantities and prices

The lot 1 weighted price was €276.87/MWh, with contracted prices ranging from €250.53 to €283.30/MWh. For lot 2, the weighted price was €229.75/MWh and the range was €229.63–230.00/MWh. KESH’s result sheet reports aggregate volumes and prices but does not name individual suppliers. These figures describe the purchase procedure; they are not retail tariffs or a forecast of electricity prices across Albania.

## The request and its delivery profiles

The request issued earlier that day sought up to 350 MW in a continuous, 24-hour profile for 26 October–1 November, with 58,800 MWh indicated. The second lot covered 28 October–1 November, with up to 150 MW for eight hours daily, 08:00–16:00, and 6,000 MWh indicated. Both profiles were specified at the cross-border capacity interface.

KESH selected offers by lowest unit price and reserved the right to accept partial bids, combine lots or purchase more than initially requested for a lot. That flexibility is relevant to the results: the lot 1 quantity exceeded its initial request, while lot 2 was lower. The terms required electronic submission and payment within 60 days after the last delivery day.

## Supply trading alongside the Drin hydropower system

KESH’s asset description places its generation business around three hydropower plants on the Drin cascade. Fierza has 500 MW of installed capacity, Koman 600 MW and Vau i Dejës 250 MW. Their associated lakes form a connected chain in northern Albania, with water from the White Drin and Black Drin entering the system and tributaries feeding Lake Koman.

The company’s profile dates the start of operation to 1978 at Fierza, 1985 at Koman and 1971 at Vau i Dejës. These established generating assets provide the infrastructure context for KESH’s trading activity. Their nameplate capacities measure potential power output, whereas the newly published MWh quantities measure contracted energy over specified delivery periods. The purchase results do not identify reservoir conditions or attribute the procurement to a particular hydrological event.
