## Key facts

- Award disclosure: 23 October 2026
- Client: Saudi Aramco
- Award: Three projects; AED 2.8 billion (USD 763.3 million) combined
- Work type: Offshore engineering, procurement and construction
- Expected completion: 18 to 23 months; start date not disclosed
- Project details: Names, fields, package scopes and individual values not disclosed

NMDC Energy said on 23 October that it had received a letter of award from Saudi Aramco for three new offshore engineering, procurement and construction projects worth AED2.8 billion (USD763.3 million). The Abu Dhabi-listed company expects the projects to be completed within 18 to 23 months. Its disclosure to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange does not identify individual projects, offshore fields, facility types, work packages, award values by package or a start date. Those details remain undisclosed, so the award cannot yet be assigned to a named facility or used to infer specific equipment or construction scopes.

The announcement crosses two markets: NMDC Energy is based in the United Arab Emirates and the client is Saudi Aramco, with the work described as offshore projects for the Saudi company. It is a direct award announcement, rather than a tender notice or memorandum of understanding. A letter of award is evidence that the company has received an award; the filing does not separately describe contract-signing, notice-to-proceed or mobilization dates. Its 18-to-23-month completion range is the only schedule disclosed. The company does not say whether the range applies to each project or to the three collectively, and the wording does not provide a calendar completion date.

The new work sits within a longstanding NMDC Energy–Aramco relationship. NMDC Energy’s April 2025 announcement said the parties extended a Long-Term Agreement by three years, with an option for a further three years, following an earlier agreement signed in 2016. That framework covers detailed engineering, material procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation and pre-commissioning of offshore facilities in Saudi territorial waters. The 2025 release provides context for the contractor’s Saudi operating footprint, but it does not establish that the new awards use every service in that framework or specify the exact scope of these three packages.

NMDC Energy also began fabrication at its Ras Al Khair yard in Saudi Arabia in 2025. The company described that facility as 400,000 square metres with annual production capacity of 40,000 tonnes. The yard is relevant background to its local fabrication capability, but the October filing does not say that any of the three projects will be built there. In its 2025 integrated report, NMDC listed earlier Aramco Zuluf packages as separate work, with disclosed facilities and scope. Those older projects should not be conflated with this award: no Zuluf reference appears in the 23 October filing.

Financial comparisons require care because group and subsidiary figures describe different perimeters. NMDC Energy reported H1 2026 revenue of AED9.5 billion in its 28 July results release and said its own backlog was AED33.3 billion at 30 June. NMDC Group’s separate 30 July release reported AED56.1 billion of group backlog across its business units. The AED2.8 billion award is a new disclosed value, but neither release here provides a post-award backlog update or revenue-recognition schedule for the three projects. It would therefore be premature to add the full award to either period-end backlog as a confirmed reported balance or to project its quarterly contribution.

For EPC suppliers and project-watchers, the filing confirms a significant offshore award and a delivery window while leaving the details needed for package-level market analysis open. Follow-up disclosures could clarify facility locations, engineering and fabrication split, procurement scope, mobilization, package-level values and how progress will be reported. Until then, those points remain unknown. The immediate verifiable facts are the three-project count, the combined AED2.8 billion value, the Saudi Aramco client, offshore EPC description and expected 18-to-23-month completion period.
