## Key facts

- Machine mass: Under 800 kg
- Build chamber: 100 × 120 mm

Rosatom introduced its RusMelt 100M metal 3D printer on 22 October at the Moscow Investment and Industrial Forum. The fuel division describes it as a compact selective-laser-melting system for metal parts. The machine weighs less than 800 kilograms, has a 100 by 120 millimetre build chamber and places its systems in one enclosure. The company says it can be installed on a level floor without a dedicated production bay, foundation or reinforced floor. The announcement does not report installed units or customer orders.

The release lists stainless steel, titanium, nickel, cobalt-chromium and aluminium among the materials the printer can process. Its operating principle is powder-bed fusion: a thin metal-powder layer is spread over a platform and a laser melts selected regions; successive layers form a part. Rosatom presents the small chamber and machine footprint as ways to reduce material and gas consumption per print. These are the manufacturer’s design claims, not independently tested savings figures.

Rosatom Additive Technologies says the machine is produced at its Moscow Additive Technologies Centre and is offered with printing parameters, materials and technical support from commissioning through adaptation to customer applications. The product announcement describes the system as suitable for research and development, prototyping and small series. Those applications differ from high-throughput large-part production, for which the small chamber would impose a physical size limit.

A May 2026 release on the RusMelt 150M describes the product line immediately before the 100M launch. Rosatom said the 150M extended a family already containing the 300M and 600M serial models, all based on selective laser melting. The stated 150M build area is 150 mm in diameter and 200 mm high, with capacity of up to 15 cubic centimetres an hour. The release positioned that machine for universities, research centres, medical applications and small industrial parts, including prototypes, spares and complex components. It also described quality-control and data-logging functions for traceability. Those details belong to the 150M and should not be transferred to the 100M; they show the product line spans different chamber sizes and application settings rather than establishing a universal performance ranking.

The distinction has practical implications for buyers: compact systems can suit laboratories and small-batch work, while larger envelopes allow larger components or batches. The catalogue also describes the business as combining printer manufacture, powder materials and 3D-printing services. That integrated offer is relevant because reliable production depends on the material and qualified process as well as the machine. The October announcement names potential uses in universities, research centres, repair, aviation, space and medical manufacturing, but does not identify confirmed customer deployments or certified parts.
