Saipem published its 2025 Sustainability Overview on 20 May 2026, setting out environmental, safety and workforce results for the preceding year. The company describes the overview as voluntary and complementary to its mandatory consolidated sustainability reporting. The publication date is the news event, while the performance indicators relate to 2025. Those dates should remain separate so readers do not mistake the reported annual outcomes for measurements covering all of 2026.

The company reported Scope 2 carbon neutrality through a combination of energy-saving measures, efficiency improvements, renewable electricity and offsets for residual emissions. That claim is narrower than saying the entire business had eliminated all emissions. Saipem also reported avoiding 82,600 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent associated with Scope 1 and Scope 2 through energy-management initiatives at assets and construction sites. These are company-reported results with the boundaries stated in its announcement.

The safety section reports no fatal accidents in 2025 and describes a protection-based approach intended to reduce the consequences of human error. Supporting measures include training and technologies such as the LiSa Hyper Harness for work at height and smart-camera systems for monitoring operating activities. The source links these tools with prevention and safeguards; it does not establish that any one device alone produced the annual safety outcome.

Saipem said it delivered more than one million hours of training across a workforce exceeding 30,000 people from around 130 nationalities. It also reported approximately €2 million invested in more than 70 community projects across 20 countries. Examples include vocational and entrepreneurship initiatives in Indonesia, urban regeneration in Milan, waste and environmental activities in nine countries, and cardiac screening for communities in Mozambique. These examples illustrate the types of activity covered rather than separate construction contract awards.

The overview places the results alongside a 2025 order backlog exceeding €30 billion, of which 14% related to low- and zero-carbon projects. It also refers to the company's longer-term net-zero ambition and engagement with suppliers on Scope 3 emissions. The publication provides a dated corporate account of reported progress, not independent confirmation that all future targets have been met. For infrastructure-sector readers, retaining the reporting year, emissions boundaries and the role of offsets is essential to interpreting the company's claims accurately.
