Alkane Resources reported first-quarter FY27 gold-equivalent production of 40,740 ounces at an all-in sustaining cost of A$2,805 per gold-equivalent ounce in its quarterly report published 23 October. The company’s breakdown was 39,823 ounces of gold and 396 tonnes of antimony. It reported sales of 38,348 gold-equivalent ounces, generating A$206 million of revenue, and mine operating cash flow of A$102 million. Alkane said the quarter closed with A$440 million in cash and bullion, or A$459 million including listed investments.
The release includes construction and development updates across operations. At Tomingley in New South Wales, Alkane described ongoing offline pavement works, concrete base pours for culverts and tie-in activities associated with the Newell Highway realignment. It said work had commenced on the southern connection between the highway and bypass. On Kyalite Road, planks for a haul-road overpass had been placed and abutments were nearing full height. These are described as works in progress, with no revised completion date or project cost stated in the company’s summary.
At Björkdal in Sweden, the company reported initial till removal completed at the new Storheden portal and lateral development from underground commenced. It said tailings dam wall lifts were on budget and schedule. The quarterly report also describes exploration at Costerfield in Victoria and Björkdal, but those drill results are not treated here as resource additions unless quantified in the release. Alkane said its annual resource and reserve statement showed reserve growth beyond depletion replacement at each of its three operating mines.
Alkane maintained FY27 group production guidance of 163,000–177,000 gold-equivalent ounces at an AISC of A$2,900–3,200 per ounce. The company reported that its maiden fully franked dividend of two cents per share had been paid and that a A$50 million buyback was approved in September. Its performance measures include a non-IFRS AISC and a company-defined gold-equivalent calculation using market prices for gold and antimony; those measures are company-reported and may not be directly comparable across issuers.
The road work is tied to the mine extension rather than a standalone transport project. Alkane’s Tomingley project page says the San Antonio and Roswell deposits lie beneath the existing highway, making the realignment and Kyalite diversion prerequisites to the planned open-cut development. The quarterly report records the construction sequence in progress; it does not report that the new roads have opened or that the extension’s open cut has begun.
