SEMITAN, acting as mandatary for Nantes Métropole, has published a tender for overhead contact-line works on the western part of tramway Line 1 in the Tertre sector. The procurement is tied to creating an optimised manoeuvring zone, identified in the notice as ‘voie Z optimisée’. The works contract is for seven months, with a start date of 14 April 2027 recorded in the notice. Applications are due on 6 November 2026 at noon, at the stated +01:00 offset.

The scope brings together execution studies and field works on the tramway contact line. The contractor is to construct foundations for new catenary supports and reinforce the foundations of existing supports. The notice also requires removal of an existing communication span between supports 1789 and 1797. It then specifies supply and installation of new supports and their equipment, including a portal structure and flexible registration arm. These are direct elements of the published description; the notice does not give a full span schedule or bill of quantities.

The contact-wire works include new spans connecting track 1 to the new manoeuvring track and track 2 to that track, each described as running from anchor to anchor. Section insulators are also included. The contractor must carry out inspections and tests and provide the as-built works dossier. In other words, the tender covers design development, support foundations, modifications to existing support bases, removal and installation of the named catenary elements, testing and handover records. The detailed specifications are in the CCTP, the technical clauses document cited by the notice.

The reason given for the package is a new manoeuvring zone on the western segment of Line 1. The procurement description does not give the zone’s dimensions, explain the operating pattern it will support, state its precise relationship to adjacent tracks or identify any passenger service change. The tender is specifically for the overhead contact-line work associated with that project. It should not be broadened into a claim that the full tramway manoeuvring-zone project is being delivered under this one contract.

The procedure is a negotiated call for tenders. The notice permits bids by a consortium, with the buyer seeking either a jointly liable group with a lead member or a fully joint-and-several group. It states that a business may not submit multiple offers by appearing both as an individual candidate and as a member of one or more groups. The notice does not publish an estimated contract value or award weights. Bidders must use the tender file for the commercial criteria and technical requirements beyond the described work package.

This is a newly published invitation, not an award notice. It identifies the Tertre sector of Nantes and a specific catenary scope; it does not identify a contractor or claim that the works have started. The stated April 2027 start date and seven-month duration provide a procurement schedule, while the full delivery sequence and railway access arrangements remain in the technical dossier.
