MAIRE announced on 28 September 2026 that Tecnimont USA Inc. has signed a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract with Argent LNG, LLC for the planned LNG export facility at Port Fourchon, Louisiana. The facility is planned for a total capacity of 25 million tons per annum (MTPA).

The contract covers FEED engineering, development of key permitting documentation and technical support to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) permitting process. Its scope also includes project execution planning, schedule and cost estimation, safety and reliability studies and integration of key technology packages.

MAIRE said the project is expected to move to the EPC phase after the FERC permitting process is finalised, the FEED is complete and Argent LNG takes a final investment decision. The release follows a cooperation agreement announced on 21 January 2026 that defined Tecnimont's role.

The release does not disclose the value of the FEED contract. Argent LNG's chairman and chief executive said first cargo is targeted for 2030.
