The notice estimates the contract at €12,486,908.91. It gives 1 February 2027 to 26 September 2028 as the planned start and end dates for the contract, subject to the procurement outcome.
The Marche Special Office for Reconstruction has published a design-and-build tender for a new bridge over the Tronto River between Ascoli Piceno and Ancarano. The works form part of a road-connection upgrade identified under the 2016 earthquake reconstruction programme. The contract covers demolition of the existing reinforced-concrete bridge, executive design and construction of a new reinforced-concrete bridge with two traffic lanes, plus associated road-adjustment works in the two municipalities.
The procurement asks for a joint delivery of executive design and works based on the approved technical-economic feasibility project. The executive-design phase includes coordination of safety during design. The notice also requires information-modelling techniques (BIM). These requirements place design coordination, safety planning and model-based project information within the selected contractor’s scope before construction. The notice identifies the intervention as lot 2 and gives the SISMAPP project identifier 8862.
The estimated value is €12,486,908.91. The notice gives a planned start date of 1 February 2027 and an end date of 26 September 2028. Those are the stated contract dates, not evidence that work has started or that the schedule will be met. The published record does not supply the bridge’s span, deck geometry, foundation type, approach-road lengths, traffic-management arrangements or hydrological design parameters. The feasibility project and procurement documents are needed to establish those technical details.
Evaluation includes contractor experience on comparable works over the previous 20 years, safety, organisational profiles, price and execution method. The notice’s scoring values allocate 30 points to experience, 24 to safety, 19 to organisation, 10 to the economic offer and 17 to the execution method. In aggregate, the qualitative and technical categories are weighted more heavily than price, with 90 points across experience, safety, organisation and method against 10 for the economic offer. The notice also flags the possibility of a contract variation up to one-fifth of the works amount, with a separate contribution for social-security charges.
Bids are due 25 November 2026 at noon, with a +02:00 offset stated in the notice. The procedure is open. The buyer’s description identifies both the demolition and replacement crossing, making the contract a complete bridge intervention rather than a standalone design study. No contractor is selected in this publication. Firms need to review the issued feasibility project and tender documents for structural parameters, river constraints, work staging, road interfaces and the detailed BIM requirements.
The evaluation weights reinforce the combined nature of the job. Experience and safety together account for 54 points, while organisational profiles and execution method account for another 36; the economic offer carries 10. The buyer is thus explicitly scoring the delivery team and how it will perform the work, as well as the price. The notice does not state a construction method for maintaining river flow or managing traffic at the crossing.
The buyer also reserves the possibility of a variation up to one-fifth of the works contract amount. The notice gives €2,048,645.86 for that works variation, plus €7,501.30 in social-security charges. This is a contract option stated in the procurement, not part of the published base estimated value or evidence that the change will be exercised.
