Saudi Energy’s revised electricity service tariff is scheduled to take effect on 1 January 2027, according to the Saudi Press Agency’s 25 October report. The company’s tariff page separates monthly consumption charges from a fixed monthly fee based on the meter’s approved circuit-breaker capacity. It says the listed rates exclude value-added tax (VAT). The schedules cover residential, commercial, private health and education, industrial, agricultural, charity and government customers.

Residential consumption is priced at SAR0.21 per kWh for monthly use up to 6,000 kWh and SAR0.33 per kWh above that threshold. The fixed monthly charge is SAR70 for a breaker capacity from 20 to under 100 amperes, SAR80 from 100 to under 200, SAR90 from 200 to under 300 and SAR100 at 300 amperes or more. The table therefore contains a usage component and a separate capacity-based fee; the page does not estimate how a household’s bill will change.

Commercial and private health and educational customers have rates of SAR0.25 per kWh up to 6,000 kWh and SAR0.35 above it. Their fixed-charge ladder is SAR350, SAR500, SAR700 or SAR900 across the four breaker bands. Industrial customers connected to the transmission or distribution network have a single SAR0.23 per kWh consumption rate and the same fixed-fee ladder as commercial customers. The government schedule lists SAR0.35 per kWh and the same capacity-based fees.

Agricultural rates are SAR0.19 per kWh up to 6,000 kWh and SAR0.23 above it, with fixed fees of SAR140, SAR160, SAR180 or SAR200 across the capacity bands. Charities are listed at SAR0.17 and SAR0.21 per kWh for the two usage tiers and use the same fixed-fee ladder as agriculture. The official table states that the amounts exclude VAT.

A separate Saudi Press Agency report describes citizen-support measures announced alongside the tariff changes, including SAR500 monthly support for specified eligible groups and Social Security beneficiary families, subject to the stated rules. It also says the wage counted fully toward Nitaqat quotas for Saudi private-sector workers is to rise to SAR5,000 after six months and SAR6,000 after twelve months from the first increase. Those are separate support and labour measures, not components of the electricity tariff. The tariff announcement establishes the published categories, rates and effective date; it provides no customer-bill forecast or quantified revenue impact.
