Petkim, a subsidiary of SOCAR, has awarded Technip Energies contracts for a proposed integrated petrochemical complex in Aliağa, Türkiye, Technip Energies said on 29 September 2026. The contracts cover the licence for a world-scale mixed-feed ethylene cracking unit and the integrated process design package (PDP) and front-end engineering design (FEED) for the overall complex.
The FEED scope covers a steam cracker designed for about 1,200 KTA of ethylene and 550 KTA of propylene, an 850 KTA HDPE/LLDPE complex in two 425 KTA trains, and a 550 KTA polypropylene plant integrated with the new cracker.
The awarded scope covers the licensing, PDP and FEED phases only. Technip Energies describes it as a step in the project’s technical development before any final investment decision by Petkim. The company did not publish the value; it recorded the award in the third quarter of 2026 in its Project Delivery and Technology, Products & Services segments.
We are pleased to support Petkim at this important stage in the development of its integrated petrochemical complex.
